The place where it all began
The spot where it all started over 45 years ago: Loetje Amsterdam Café on Johannes Vermeerstraat in Amsterdam Zuid. Founded in 1977 by Ludwig ‘Loetje’ Klinkhamer as a billiard café. When the now-famous tenderloin steak hit the menu, the billiard tables quickly faded into the background – and history was made.
These days, you can still enjoy the tastiest steak in Amsterdam every day at Loetje Amsterdam Café. Our restaurant, with a spacious terrace right in the middle of the city and just around the corner from the Albert Cuyp Market, has that real Loetje Café vibe. Nothing like your typical steakhouse. This special spot is where you enjoy lunch, drinks and dinner – Loetje-style.
